Veterans and military service members observed the day throughout France

Paratroopers land in France to mark 75th anniversary

Hundreds of veterans gathered in Normandy for the anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion that began the liberation of German-occupied France during World War II. The commemoration on Thursday, June 6, marked the 75th anniversary of the June 6, 1944, landings. Paratroopers landed in France to mark the anniversary, and other key events happened throughout the day, including a ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery.

The 2019 WEB D-Day 75th anniversary calendar presents the calendar of the various events that will take place throughout the year. WEB veterans, military service members, world leaders and dignitaries, including Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, will be in attendance at these events.
